Don't buy this camera. Sucks up 4 AA batteries for every 20-30 pictures. HP provides absolutely no support for hardware or software problems. If you upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP you have to BUY new driver CD's from HP. I've searched for almost...
Maybe a beginner would appreciate the quality for the price.
Expensive to maintain. No free driver updates.

Good camera for the price, especially being 2+ years old. Battery life is an issue, but get some Engergizer 1600 mAh rechargables and you won't regret it. (I actually have a mixed set of 1200 and 1600 and it gives me no problems at all) The batteries...
Simple point and click photos, good resolution, an idiot can work this thing.
Viewfinder is off, kinda anoying.

Don't buy it and don't buy anything else from HP.
It's not a bad camera. Takes a decent with the right lighting.
Where do I start. Sucks up batteries. Uses 4 AA for every 24 to 36 pictures. If you leave the batteries in the camera when the camera is off...it'll drain the batteries dry. Worst weakness is a lack of support from HP. If you upgrade to XP OS then you...

well, it does it's job - but not much more (for 500 NIS - israeli shequel about 100USD). It's a nice cam for taking casual pictures. With a 64 MB Memory card I took about 200 Pictures. Since the auto-focus is not that good i recommend 2 pictures...

It is a great camera for the price MP 1.3. But for the XP drivers you will need to buy them at HP.com for $10.95 and wait 5 days for the CD or 2 days you pay more. So after this i give it a bad report for service and quality effect.
Its Cheap and it will get you started in the digital world.. I Would save up the extra $200 and get into SLRs, or higher end 3.0 Digy cameras.
Very low budget camera shell. 1 drop and say good by to it, DRIVERS for XP will cost you money!!!, time!!, and effort!!! Stay away from HP products in the Camera area just a warning if you want to make good images!! Makes a great toy for my 5 year old!

Good camera. But it does not contain XP drivers and HP want's to charge you for the drivers. Stay away!

Terrible camera. Consumes batteries in less than 10 pictures. View finder is not accurate, pictures are never centered! Slow to "snap" not at all useful. What a piece of junk!
none
eats batteries, inaccurate view finder, very slow to snap.

Decent camera. I am a web developer and use the camera to take high-quality images for 72 dpi screen display. Reading the reviews, I see that many others who have used this camera have been very disappointed. So far, my camera has held up for better...
The menu system is easy to use. The auto iris is very impressive. Even indoors with low light, I can disable the flash and still get a nice clean bright picture. I chose this camera deliberately over the others in its class due to low price, easy menu...
As with any home digital camera, the software is worthless. I installed only the driver for the camera and use Photoshop to manipulate the images. My camera came with a 4 meg Compact Flash card. I immediately upgraded to a 48 meg card and can squeeze...

I know you get what you paid for. Since the HP 215 is really cheap I can live with a few imperfections. But still, there is some major flaws (even at this price) : o 10 pictures max with a new set of batteries o Can''t use rechargable batteries o Must...
Price ...
o Very slow to open up o Very slow to refresh the preview o Don''t keep settings o Very poor battery life o Can''t user rechargable betteries o Must pay for software/drivers updates

i had the camera for 2 days before returning it. you get what you pay for!! where to start...batteries - 4 AA alkalines last for about 8 pics before going fubar. Unacceptable! pictures, even on the finest setting were pixelated, the camera is slow, and...
pics turn out better outside, camera probably can be hurled a long distance
battery life, slow, battery life, 4MB compact flash card is limiting, no shutter guard, doesn''t save settings, battery life
