An excellent machine as a starter if you think you want to try something without forking out huge amounts of cash. Or for those who have a tighter bu

I bought my Evolution second hand on an online auction website here in New Zealand a few months ago. It is nearly 9 years old, but has had little use and is actually in quite good condition. The fact that it has a full plastic body would have most...

Takes up minimal bench space. Relatively easy machine to learn on. For a plastic body it actually looks okay, not great, but not bad. Plus all the typically good things about Gaggia machines at this level such as a commercial size brass portafilter,...

It's a plastic body. Also the 'Turbo Frother" is terrible, just take the end off for a reasonable single hole steam outlet. If you can be bothered, replace it with a Sylvia wand. Steam power is good, but not for all that long so only small amounts of...

A very beginner machine.

I don't have any espresso experience, as a biginner i was looking for a cheap and good espresso machine.

A very good machine for the price. I don't really have experience with espresso machine but this one do, like i hoped, very good espresso and milk crema. A very good espresso taste, not that strong for a biginner ; I'm from France than please excuse my...

I don't really know, i have use it for only one week ; But it needs a long time to be ready to make an espresso, about 6 or 7 minutes ; It's little bit hard to use, and make your kitchen dirty with a lot of coffee, but may be it's normal for an classic...

The best machine in the sub $300 range, do not confuse with flashy stainless machine or the new weaker gaggia products

The machine is annoyingly limited to placement. Filling works best from the left side so even placing on a Gaggia Bar, it is in a bad place next to the grinder.

Solid product, 58mm REAL portafilter, good cycle time

plastic exterior, water tank could use a top fill option. The options for placement are limited to keeping sides open, because 1) the tank comes out easiest to the left and 2) the wand is on the right. Silly design...should have made these both happen...

All around capable machine for the price.

This machine really lets you appreciate what a much better machine can give you. It is quite capable, just sometimes a pain to use.

Relatively cheap price ; Quite capable (with a couple tweaks/workarounds) ; Steam light comes on fast ; Attractive looking ; Good build quality

Small boiler means not tons of steam (easy solution though - read below) ; Heating elements seems to cycle on/off alot ; Frothing attatchment kinda sucks (lots of easy solutions to this - read below)

One of the best values on the market today!

I've owned this machine for a little over a month now, and I have to say that it has surpassed my expectations. At the price I paid, it's in the class with the deLonghi, Breville, Starbucks, and Hamilton Beach machines, and it is far superior to them....

Looks good on counter ; Hefty 58 mm brass portafilter ; Super Fast heat up time ; Large, stable drip tray

Short steam arm ; Cheap buttons ; Poor indicator lights ; Temperature stability ; Plastic Housing

Great bang for the buck.

First of all, the internal components of Gaggia Classic, Baby, Evolution, Carezza, Espresso, and Coffee are identical in terms of espresso brewing and steaming. So read this as a review of all of those.

Big, heavy, commercial-quality, chromed brass, 58mm portafilter. This means heat retention... and it just feels so nice in my hand ; Looks nice in my kitchen ; Paired with a good grinder, this machine is capable of consistently acceptable espresso -...

Small boiler means poor temp stability on shots ; Weak Steaming and lame "turbofrother" tip ; Very small drip tray with easily displaced grill ; Aluminum Boiler is theoretically more prone to corrosion (though I've experienced no problems, and the...
