Having upgraded from a twin thermoblock machine, I can verify that the Zaffiro is a quantum leap away from most home machines in terms of its' build quality and capacities - both espresso delivery and steaming. It has taken me about 4 weeks to learn...

Powerful steaming capacity. Consistent espresso shots. Superb build quality. An adornment to any kitchen.

In my opinion, head-and-shoulders above the others if you only make espresso.

 

In deciding what to buy, I considered four basic choices:

Great thermal stability from the e-61 group head. Solid construction. Huge drip tray. Easily adjustable brew tempurature

Dispensing hot water is clumsy. Group head gasket difficult to remove
