These are inherently faulty units. They have issues with bad capacitors according to a DSPH manager, was told they were recalled and replaced. So I bought a refurb which apparently fixed this issue, yet this unit I have failed after less than a month....

i bought a digital set top box which i believe is a DSE-1185, it has worked fine up until about a month ago. It started to make a lot of crackling, popping and screeching noises, and we can not watch any tv with it because of the noises and it cuts out...
