The Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4540 is built around an inkjet engine, but can challenge low-cost color laser MFPs.

Laser-class speed. Excellent paper handling, with three paper trays and duplexer. WiFi. Low claimed cost per page.

Big and heavy for an inkjet multi-function printer.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4540 was introduced as an inkjet with the "world's fastest auto two-sided print speeds." Epson also states that it can save users up to 50 percent in print costs when compared to other printers.

Fast print speeds ; Holds 580 sheets of paper in total ; Nice 5.8-inch color touchscreen ; Lots of features (scan features, custom print sizes, etc)

Noisy printing ; Scans appear overly saturated ; Average quality 8.5 x 11 photo printing

Would not recommend. Bad print head, wouldn't recognize new cartridges. Wasted tons of paper trying to perform maintenance.
