Disappointed by Sony

Purchased this unit because it was a sony and expected a high quality item.  From the begining, the unit was freezing on DVDs, would not eject dvd without unplugging unit, does not play VHS properly, no sound because of auto tracking problems.  Do not...

At first glance, the unit looks nice and has lots of promising features

None of the promising featues work!  unit freezes, vhs does not play well

don't buy it

I was given this as a Christmas present and I feel very badly for the friend that bought it for me as a very very nice gesture. I will sell it to the highest bidder at auction and give the money back to the buyer that saw my complete frustration trying...

The pro is that it was not bought by me-no loss of $$$$.

Very very difficult to play anything, let alone record something.

enhances images from old DVDs

I haven't figured out how to get title lists ; quite finicky about specks of dirt

Sony, piece of balogna!

Bought the Sony rdr vx 535 and brought it home. My 12 year old had it out of the box and working in 3 minutes. Played tapes beautifully. Next I tried to record my wedding video on to a dvd. Had to read the instructions and one hour later I had a dvd of...

Like I said, my 12 yead old daughter got it up and running

It just stopped working
