It would be nice to be able to use the high quality features of the dvd player along with the standard quality of the vcr at the same time.

This unit isn't very good. It breaks easy. Fortunately the store we purchased it from honored the warranty so we have a new one now. I hope this one will last longer than its predecessor.

weak fuse

 

After about a year the internal fuse blew on our player. It had a video and a DVD stuck inside. I had to take it apart to retrieve the two items and figured I'd try replacing the fuse just to see if it would work. I replaced the fuse and got it...

No VHS hi-fi audio!

 

Even though this unit has left & right audio output jacks for VHS section, its VHS section only has standard monophonic audio. I removed the top cover, and verified that there are no hi-fi audio heads on the video drum. Sylvania really cut corners on...

They did not inform me at the store that I could not timer record WITHOUT a TUNER. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this product AND Radioshack
