A great CRT

 

They bill this as sort of a "value", half-serious graphic design monitor, and I think that fits, in a good way. An excellent monitor for the price, but it's obviously not a serious graphic design monitor. I do a lot of FPS gaming, a lot of movie...

Clear, crisp, and sharp picture, especially for a 21" CRT that isn't a super-expensive graphic design model. Excellent dot pitch for a 21", and it shows when you're reading text at 1600x1200. It's not the same "style" of crispness a good LCD gives, but...

Incredibly bright even when controls are set to brightness of 0/100. This monitor has much worse ghosting and halos around bright areas than I expected (I was expecting none); they went a little overboard with the anti-glare/anti-reflective coatings....

pricey for 5 wks.

 

i will not buy from newegg again. it is costing me to mush money..and dopwn time to deal with this company. $xx to ship it to me. i have to pay shipping back to viewsonic-threw away the box...have to buy a new one... and packing. 4 wks til they fix...

worked fine out of the box

after 5 weeks it died. DIED!!! newegg only covers 30 days. this is the fourth piece of hardware (at a spendy price) which newegg has sold me that was faulty. newegg does not do a thorough job at vetting thier hardware.

LCDs will never come near close to as vivid and realistic in frames per second like the ViewSonic G225fb KING CRT. Enough said...

Superb color,shades,sharpness, and excellent graphics while using Radeon X1650 Series card. No ghosting, no dead pixels(unlike LCDs) and has 60 hertz refresh rate !!! Woooooo whooooooo !!! Not to mention .20 mm dot pitch... This CRT is meant for GAMERS...

Yea yea yea... Its heavy, bulky,takes alot of desk space. This colossal CRT weighs around 70lbs. Didnt come with HDB15-to-5 BNC conector. Had to buy a monster cable of this kind online.
