Advent QC-8003

A very decent graphics card - for a non-gamer.

Despite having 10Gb memory, it operates poorly and slowly.

I have had ongoing issues with this computer, it seems to be on thing after another, just waiting on the next thing. Lost all confidence in using it. Bought to replace my 5 year old computer but still using it as it is more reliable.

Front sliding flap not best design but OK when you get used to it.

All mains leads had european 2 pin plugs

The Hard drive SATA cable had to be replaced - the one fitted was very loose and was not making a good connection, causing the PC to crash - SATA cable replaced. The graphics card was also loose, although if this was causing problems is not known. Both...

Microsoft Media Center and Windows Live make the computer run slowly. Microsoft Media Center is very slow.

Works very fast, as you would expect from a machine with this spec.

Front panel difficult to use and the bright blue lights are a bit disracting.

Great for playing Sims 3 and for general computing

The wireless keyboard and mouse, poor connection. Had to change to wired mouse and keyboard.

Very fast and capable PC. Shame it has Vista - will see if conversion to Windows7 is possible.

I have bought two. One went wrong in 24 hours and was replaced. This is now working well. The second malfunctioned on a particularly hot day (the wired network failed) - but started again once it had cooled. I think the components are all working too...
