wonderfully quiet machine; very fast

Windows 8 - Yuk!

Boots-up in 30-40sec's, shuts down as quick. Slight noise for a sec or two on start-up but then very quiet.

No USB3 ports

The Core i5 is a great little machine and inside the Acer box, one of he quietest you can get at this price

Windows 8 is not all bad - but MS has certainly deviated from its core offer to the power user audience. Pleased to hear 8.1 will mean you can boot to desktop.
