Recertified: eMachines W3609 - RA Celeron D 356(3.33GHz) 512MB DDR2 120GB Intel GMA 950 Windows Vista Home Basic

I also ordered 2 sticks of 1GB corsair RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE video card and with all of that, this system REALLY flies. Thanks to Newegg, I have put together a very impressive system for about $350 total. Highly recommended.

Very good price. Fast, quiet machine. Comes with a DVD burner and slots for various media in the front. Little things like this really give you bang for the buck

Came loaded with Windows Vista which is the worst OS ever. Installing XP and finding the drivers were a slight inconvenience, but it is a necessity if you want to use this machine to its full potential. You will need to go to Intel's website and search...

No frills box that works

I needed a really cheap box to do some basic unattended processing (no monitor type scenario). I installed Debian Linux 3.x on it without a hitch. It works.

Cheap! Cheap! 3.3 ghz celeron processor, no frills, just works

Other reviewers said they had a loose screw floating around inside when they received it. I checked mine and had one too! The motherboard screws weren't super tight, so I tightened them back down

It can be upgraded to 4gbs

so a reveiw of that is that the motherboard can support 4gbs of ram at 667 and lower and that the specs are incorrect

The motherboard in this computer is an Intel® (Coryville 2) 945G motherboard. A link to this is ; http://support. gateway. com/s/MOTHERBD/Intel2/4006173R/4006173Rsp2.shtml and it is the same exact mobo and it supports x2 2gbs sticks at 667

Not Bad

Upon reading other reviews I made sure to check for screws. Sure enough 2 loose screws inside, and 1 missing screw. There should have been 3 screws. I bought a 1gb memory stick, but got sent the wrong one, definatly upgrade to the max 2gb.

Clean, Not too slow, graphics aren't bad, easy set-up and configuration

Comes with Vista. Came w/ 2 dirty keyboards & no mouse. Didn't come with power cord. Was told that I have to contact Emachines to get a power cord & since its a Refurbt it may/may NOT come with ACCESSORIES. I don't think the power cord in an Accessory,...

Excellent

I really don't know much about processors, so can't really tell you anything except the 3.3 GHZ. I thought was good. Could someone inform me?

Great machine for the cost. Runs most low-end games fairly well on low quality. Good for low use-internet browsing things

Horrible Video Card, and Ram ; Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Vista

For the money...

Glad I read the reviews I shook the computer down for screws found 3 none were missing from anything so extras.

The specs speak for themselves and the price is great

For the money can you really complain that much

OS & driver disks?

Watch out for & be perpared for fans, drives, & power supplies wearing out on used equipment. They can have some high mileage on them. A dead fan can overheat & fry the computer. Check the old fans often.

Sounds like a great deal for a Vista refurb over 3ghz. Tempted to buy soon if I had more info. Should get Vista someday before XP becomes obsolete. Vista SP1 is coming out soon & should improve the OS

So does it come with OS & driver Cds? Or at least is it stamped with an official windows number so we can order the OS CD cheap or free. Would prefer to do my own clean installs to get rid of factory or user installed garbage

Great for the price

This is a great budget computer for the price. If you upgrade the PS, throw some RAM in, and get a decent video card, this could be a relatively inexpensive DX10 machine. Only issue I had with this system is that the mobo only has 2 memory slots. Oh,...

Great for the price

Low memory, only 2 slots available

More loose screws!!!

Add more RAM or load a fresh copy of XP.

Good deal. I build systems for a living. Can't put one together for this price with these features

Two screws were floating around INSIDE the case (like the review below). This is, in my opinion, NOT a mistake. It was someone deliberatley dropping two motherboard screws in the case and shutting it. Guess what happens if you fire it up with a screw...
