HP Pavilion Elite e9160f

The HP Pavilion Elite e9160f offers some nice features and relatively good performance in a stylish, newly redesigned chassis.

Quad-core processor. Lots of storage and memory. More than 1GB of memory. Nvidia graphics. Draft-n Wi-Fi. Blu-ray optical drive.

Price does not include monitor. Lacks FireWire and legacy ports. Too much bloatware. Limited upgrade potential.

Great computer! Worked perfectly out of the box. Between me and my children, it has been going almost non-stop for the 3 days we've had it. Fast, amazingly quiet and runs everything without any issues. We are very happy with it

DOA followup

Followup to "DOA" review. HP fixed e9160f computer and sent it back promptly at no cost to me. Root cause of 5 minute shutdowns was CPU fan that needed to be replaced. No problems today with intensive use.

Fast, quiet ; Can turn on all games to their highest graphics quality and resolution levels ; Surprised to find that it has 2 DVD players ; One a DVD R/W lightscribe, the other a DVD/BlueRay player

Initially was nearly DOA out of the box
