HP Pavilion Slimline s3300 review: HP Pavilion Slimline s3300

HP Pavilion Slimline s3300

Outstanding price-to-feature ratio; Blu-ray/HD DVD combo drive; small, flexible case; great performance thanks to a speedy dual-core AMD CPU

Begs for an integrated IR receiver

The HP Pavilion Slimline S3330f delivers a remarkable combination of features, value, and flexibility. It excels as both a traditional desktop, and a full-fledged living room PC, complete with a Blu-ray and HD DVD drive. Any nongamer in the market for...

HP Pavilion Slimline s3300z

The $719 (as of 2/7/08) HP Pavilion Slimline s3300z shares the same ultracompact design as other models in HP's Slimline series, but it's not as fully loaded as pricier versions, such as the Intel-based Slimline s3200t. The s3300z we tested uses a...

Space-saving, compact case ; Energy-efficient processor

Slow integrated graphics ; Limited expansion

The s3300z's diminutive size makes for a great fit, but its unexceptional speed and limited expansion options are drawbacks.

HP Pavilion Slimline s3330f

The HP Pavilion Slimline s3330f PC ($950 direct) represents HP's effort at building a powerful and full-featured PC in a chassis that's about the size of a hardcover edition of Webster's Dictionary. It's almost completely wireless (aside from power and...

Compact. Nice styling. Pocket Media Drive bay. HD DVD and Blu-ray reader. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Wireless networking. HDMI. ATSC/HDTV tuner

External IR sensor. Loads of bloatware. External IR remote receiver. Only 60-day subscription to Norton Internet Security

With the HP Pavilion Slimline s3330f, HP improves its Slimline PC for HD video enthusiasts. At $950 (as tested), it comes with just enough to satisfy a multimedia consumer.

HP Pavilion Slimline S3330f Media Center PC

The Basics: Although Hewlett-Packard has exited the living-room Media Center PC business, the company still offers a number of desktop models with Windows Media Center functionality, including the Slimline S3330f. The marquee feature, given the unit's...

Sweet!

Bought this as a second computer for my wife to use for her grad studies. We had a small area for this system so the smaller tower had a lot to do with this purchase. The fact that I can one day run a HDMI cable over to my plasma was also involved in...

Don't like the dongle you have to waste a USB port on to use the wireless mouse and keyboard. Seems that HP could put this inside the tower

Hard to change to XP

Fine, works good

Very hard to change operating system to XP. They went out of their way to make sure you can not connect to your lan so you can get drivers downloaded. I will just switch to MAC in the future

If you like to have a lot of room around the house...this desktop will take up very little space.

A very portable system!! The tower is about the same size as my XBOX 360 and just about the same wait, but with a very hard, sturdy shell. Very fast right out of the box!! The built in wireless works GREAT, I rather take this tower with me while I...

The compact size of the tower leaves very little room for expansion

When the screen blanked out, I first thought - power failure but I have a UPS backup and a home standby genrator - but still looked around the room to confirm that the lights were still on. Then strange burning smell of electronics hit my nose and ...

Great, But...

I Personally love this thing! Best for the pricee, its fast, small, and efective! My only complaints is that it does not have a onboard gigabit ethernet, which my home network uses, and the GPU us a little weak. The 6150 is not really a good GPU for...
