Gigabyte P35K v3 review

An excellent gaming laptop for budget-conscious players

Gorgeous IPS display ; Excellent simulated surround sound ; Thin and light ; Versatile expansion slot

Bland style ; Thick screen bezels

Gigabyte proves that a thin and light, 15-inch gaming laptop can be powerful and longer lasting - we only wish the P35K v3 didn't look so boring.

Gigabyte P35K

A gaming machine hidden in a business laptop's clothing, the P35K is aimed at the discreet gamer.

Low weight for a gamer. Excellent battery life. Solid performance.

Can't handle ultra detail in today's games. Terrible touch pad.

If you're looking for an affordable and discreet gaming machine, the P35K is a solid alternative, provided you don't expect too much when it comes to graphics options.

Gigabyte P35K v3 Laptop Review

PC gaming is still as popular as it ever has been, with more and more users adopting PC gaming over console gaming. The ability for more customisation at a cheaper cost, compared with current high-spec games consoles, is what attracts many gamers. With...

Overall, the Gigabyte P35K V3 has been an absolute joy to use. The combination of it’s quad-core i7 processor and an insane amount of graphics power, but P35K blows many other gaming laptops away in terms of speed, gaming performance and all-round...

Lovely IPS Full HD screen.

High price

Blazing Core i7 performance and a lovely IPS Full HD screen cannot make up for the noisy cooling and extremely high price.

Gigabyte P35K Gaming Laptop

Good Specification, Excellent storage upgrade options, Value For Money, Thin and lightweight

Serious overheating issues, P25W is a better proposition

Compared to our recent review of the Gigabyte P25W, the P35K offers very similar specifications and at a very similar price. The major differences with the P35K being the lower powered Nvidia GTX765M graphics, double the RAM at 16GB and a rather...

Review: Gigabyte P35K

Until Razer launched its blade gaming laptop last year one had to make the choice of a laptop designed for portability, or one designed for serious gaming performance. The Blade delivered a degree of both, combining a thin and light design with some of...

A great design, but with some thermal flaws.

Expert Review

Solid performance at a good price, Slim design and light weight, Nice, bright 1080p IPS display with wide viewing angles

Spartan-looking design, Loud cooling fans, Gaming performance falls short at high resolution and quality settings

Still, the P35K—like the even lighter, 14-inch MSI GE40 and Razer Blade—is a good illustration of the fact that a gaming laptop need no longer be a 17-inch leviathan, with unique features like its available quad-drive storage that make it worth a look...

Great laptop

The laptop has great features being fast processor, high end graphics card, 1080P screen, 2 SSD's for fast performance and 1 TB HDD for storage. Backlit keyboard makes it easy to see in the dark. Easily adjustable volume and outputs for sound, video,...

The only con I've run into is the length of the battery. But that is due to the power behind the normal settings. If you turn off the graphics card and put the laptop into low power mode you can get about 4-5 hours out of the battery. THat isn't bad...

Excellent hardware with some build quality flaws

Overall, its a very solid machine for the money. I have read elsewhere that Gigabyte has some quality control issues. I have now experienced this first hand. My issue isn't hugely significant in terms of negatively impacting my usage experience, but...

Very fast machine, boots nice and quick thanks to the SSD. I haven't yet really put it through its paces, but StarCraft II runs very smoothly at max settings ; Screen has minimal glare and great contrast ; Backlit keyboard great for low-light settings...

Mine came with a slightly warped keyboard. It doesn't sit flush and there's a small bubble on the top left. Its too bad, because the rest of the machine looks great, very sleek. I am still considering whether I want to deal with RMAing it ; I am...
