Review: Lenovo IdeaPad Y570

Lenovo's IdeaPad series -- the bulkier, cheaper and more consumer-friendly little sibling to the ThinkPad line -- gets little love, but why?

Great combination of performance and price. Outstanding battery life from just a six-cell unit

Lenovo IdeaPad Y570

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y570 is a big laptop capable of doing big things, but there are slimmer, better looking ones that do just as much.

Great gaming experience. Excellent keyboard and navigating experience. Two USB 3.0 ports. Nice speaker system. Respectable battery life.

Case design is thick, heavy, and unattractive. Higher screen resolution needed.

Multimedia Nexus. Desktop replacement notebooks are a dime a dozen, and Lenovo has tossed its hat into the ring with its introduction of the IdeaPad Y570, a strange hybrid between a media center and a portable business notebook. While the last part...

NVIDIA's Optimus switchable graphics, The JBL speakers, NVIDIA's Optimus technology and the overall fit and finish of the Y570 were impressive, to say the least

The weight, Lack of a full HD screen, To be honest? A higher-resolution screen, and the speed of a fast hard drive/SSD
