The Msi is a great computer that takes your gaming experience anywhere. I usually travel a lot from my University to home, and every summer break and winter break I also travel. I was looking for a laptop so that I can use it for entertainment while I...

Great Laptop for Mid-Range Budget

- So since VOIDING the warranty didn't bother me one bit I decided to ditch the HDD and replace it with a 240GB SDD that I already had. Looked into the M.2 drive didn't want to fork out the cash. So instead I purchased and optical drive bay HDD Caddy,...

- Overall this is a great little machine. Newest gen Intel Processors, GTX 960M and room for expansion plenty of I/O including SD cad reader which I used a lot actually. I purchased this machine to replace my aging Lenovo Thinkpad T420 that had NVIDIA...

-Upgrades VOID warranty. - Still getting used to the keyboard layout. My previous laptops never had a number pad so I am adjusting. -Default Audio settings have poping noises and reverb on....simple tweak Nahomic fixed that. -Did I mention upgrades...

Bad apple/fixed/don't care anyways?

9.5/10 would buy again, had to give it 4 stars simply because there is room for improvement at $800. Started out kinda slow, but after using it for a while it has gotten faster. My suggestion would be to spend the extra $50-100 to get an extra 0.5GHz

Bought this computer only 6 days ago, came yesterday via mail. I don't have a whole lot of experience with laptops, but I do have quite a bit of experience with computer hardware. Good size monitor 1080p really is all you need, anything else is just...

Keys do not iluminate. Speakers are very quiet and although they face forward, they are very treble sensitive. And lack any bass, although listening to dubstep would be tolerable because they don't bottom out, they just don't have the bass. which...

Excellent portable gaming for the price.

This is an excellent laptop for those looking for a sub-$1000 laptop for portable gaming. Sure, you won't run The Division on ultra settings at 60fps on a GTX 960m, but it can play the game quite well on a mix of low & medium graphics settings. Steps...

- Excellent build quality. Aluminum surrounds the touch pad and keyboard keys. The hinge is strong and both the keys and touch pad are very responsive, unlike my old Asus G73JH laptop which sometimes wouldn't register keystrokes or touch pad...

- As others mentioned, you will void your warranty to do any upgrades, even RAM. For me, this wasn't intimidating at all, and was a similar experience when upgrading my Mac Mini a few years ago. There is one screw hidden behind the "Warranty Void If...

Gets the job done well

Solid brand not the most expensive laptop but performs very well for my needs the cons listed were not a deal breaker with everything else on board.

No issues with drivers or any setup. Runs very quietly and keeps cool after 3-4 hour game sessions. Good number of ports and connection types for my needs. For the cost a solid laptop.

Screen doesn't seem as clear as other computers I've had, and the keyboard leaves something to be desired key space is wide and no backlight. No option to add more RAM or different hard drive without voiding warranty

Pleasing performance

I had originally wanted the MSI GS40, but a $1600+ budget is not something I had. Not too sure about the battery life since I haven't fully tested the mobility of the unit, but I'm fairly certain on light use I could at least get a few hours out of it...

Performs well and fits my needs [games, schoolwork, general browsing] Satiates my want for nextgen [it DOES have the option for pci-e gen3 m.2 even if the page doesn't show it] i5 Skylake DDR4 GTX 960m 7200rpm HDD m.2 pci-e 3 (empty) Thoughts: Audo -...

There is one major con and one minor con that are actually important: *UPGRADING VOIDS WARRANTY* .. -major con- the bottom panel is one giant panel and one screw is covered by a 'warranty void if tampered' sticker This makes it impossible to upgrade...
