Samsung Series 3 Chromebook

A slim and stylish ChromeOS ultraportable with all the extras for £230 sounds like a bargain.

Super affordable ; Slim and stylish ; Good performance ; Generous connectivity ; Decent battery life

Poor screen ; Rear connectivity is awkard ; No touch ; ChromeOS needs to be online to be its best

Last of all there’s a cover hiding a SIM card slot for the optional mobile broadband found on some models. Alas, you won’t find this to be active on the XE303C12. However, Bluetooth is part of the package, as is Wi-Fi N. Ethernet can be added through a...

Samsung Chromebook 3: Cheaper, more productive alternative to a tablet

This Chromebook is perfect for someone who wants a lightweight, portable tablet-like machine that has a keyboard.

Better performance than many tablets ; Sturdy construction

Takes time to adapt to the keyboard ; No physical right-click option

Samsung's $249 Chromebook is what it should've been all along: Cheap

The $249 Samsung Chromebook is a solid device for the price and an interesting illustration of what the new ARM chips can do. But don't push it too hard with lots of browser tabs or heavyweight Web apps.

The ; is a lightweight, thin, and inexpensive laptop for those times when all you need is a powerful browser.

The Chromebook's low price comes out in its build quality and performance.

The $249 Samsung Chromebook is a good extra computer for cloud-loving Google-centric Web users.

Samsung Series 3 Chromebook 303C

The Samsung Series 3 Chromebook is the latest in the line of Google OS based laptops. The Chromebook concept is a potentially great one, but one that's largely been a letdown on account of its price just not matching up to the limited feature set.

Small, transportable, Google OS is simple, tie-ins with Google Drive and other Google products, price is closer to where it should be

Poor screen viewing angle, no 3G, an occasionally poor browsing experience, limited on-board storage, needs to be online for full experience, app limitations, just not exciting

The Chromebook concept is a potentially great one, but one that's largely been a letdown on account of its price just not matching up to the limited feature set.

Samsung Chromebook Series 3 review

Google's Chromebooks received a lukewarm reception on release last year. Can Samsung's refreshed model bring the concept to the boil?

9-hour battery life ; 10-second boot-to-log-in awesomeness ; Fast, Apple-slick and silent ; Google apps that work offline

Shaky media playback ; Let-down sound quality ; Substandard screen

Samsung’s improvements, combined with the price drop, make this an attractive netbook alternative. It’s at its best as a mobile or kids’ computer.

Samsung Chromebook Series 3 Review

Just like set top boxes, which are dedicated devices for streaming video content, the Chromebook is a dedicated web browsing appliance. It is an inexpensive piece of hardware, running on a free Operating System, with free software and updates (OS,...

Circling back to the initial question, I found it to be “good enough”, especially for $250. That is coming from someone who owns a MacBook Air and mostly run, you guessed it, the Chrome browser on it. Are you considering a Chromebook? What is holding...

Samsung Series 3 Chromebook Review

What kind of a laptop does $249 buy? A better question might be, is this low-cost laptop built around Google's Chrome OS more than a browser in a box?

Inexpensive ; Good battery life ; Lots of apps in Play Store ; Can use some Drive apps offline ; 3G from Verizon is available as an option

Very little capability when offline ; Very limited self-contained storage ; Free online storage is limited and is charged for after size limit is reached ; "Free" online storage is charged for after 2 years ; 3G option is almost as pricy as the laptop...

The Chromebook once again delivers a basic laptop experience but that might not be enough for many users.

Samsung Series 3 Chromebook (late-2012) Review

It's no secret that Google is aiming to create a whole new segment in the world of portable computing with Chrome , and here with the newest Samsung Series 3 Chromebook , especially at its eye-opening $249 price point, it appears that the big G will...

This Chromebook from Samsung is a value offer you might just need to think about, if only because the quality matches the price so very closely. Considering the alternatives start at several hundreds of dollars higher, you risk being called “silly” for...
