This aberration aside the basic design and build of the X460 is very strong. There are no annoying creaking panels, very little flex in the keyboard and though the glossy finish won't suffer bumps and scrapes gladly, the machine itself shouldn't suffer...

I'm pretty impressed with the Samsung X460. Oh, sure, I have a couple quibbles about choices like the discrete but low-end GPU (obviously a cost-cutting measure), but that doesn't stop me from recommending this machine. It's a little outside the range...

Great design. Lightweight. Big 14-inch widescreen. HDMI-out port. Comfortable keyboard. Very good battery life.

Available only through e-tailers. Needs higher resolution and extended battery options.

Very slim and lightweight; distinctive look; excellent battery life; solid brushed-metal construction; comfortable keyboard.

Overpriced compared with comparable 14-inch laptops; you'll need to appreciate a black-and-red color scheme.

If you want a thin-and-light 14-inch laptop or just love the distinctive look, the Samsung X460 is an impressive piece of hardware, but you'll find better value elsewhere.
