Does what it's supposed to do, if you take the time to develop a "feel" for it. Best OTA DVR on the market. Manufacturer releases firmware updates. Update the firmware before even attempting to use it. Seems resources for channel skip/delete and EPG...

Seems the TV industries don't want us recording OTA like we did in the VCR days. They want you to pay for what was once free. Thus, the box exists in a hostile world, and I applaud Mediasonic for this valuable device

All functions work as described

Output looks like SD, no matter what settings or cable I use. Recordings are uncompressed, about 5-6 GB per hour. Remote buttons are not very intuitive (for example to playback a recording press "USB") but you get used to it

This box will not work with any "clear" channels broadcast over a cable, which is what I bought it for. Works with antenna input only (ATSC). Does NOT have a QAM tuner to receive cable signals that a normal TV would. Don't buy this if you plan to...
