Lenovo claims its X1 Carbon is the world's lightest 14-inch laptop

The revamped Lenovo X1 ultrabook is painfully expensive, but if you're willing to make a sizable investment, it's the ultrathin 14-incher to beat.

Incredibly light for a 14-inch laptop, the ; is ruggedly built, and has a better keyboard than any ultrabook-style laptop, even Apple's MacBook Air.

For such an expensive laptop, battery life is just so-so. Consumer-friendly options such as HDMI are missing.

The business-oriented Lenovo ThinkPad X1 has a few quirks, but is otherwise a very impressive business-oriented ultrabook with strong crossover potential.

Its slightly thickened frame allowed for a 2.5-inch spinning hard drive—a 320GB, 7200rpm capacity, in this case. This brings down the cost of the laptop significantly; the solid-state drives found in the Air 13-inch and Series 9 are the primary reasons...

Sturdy construction. Gorilla glass is scratch-proof. Backlit keyboard. Great typing experience. HDMI and DisplayPort. Fast 2.5-inch HDD. Standard Voltage processors only. An excellent mix of wireless technologies. Dolby sound is worthy of entertainment...

No Anti-glare screen available. Standard battery alone doesn't crank out enough battery life. Hefty for an ultraportable without an optical drive

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 has a backlit keyboard, edge-to-edge gorilla glass screen, the infamous click touchpad, and high-fidelity Dolby sound, and it has some serious processing chops. Its standard battery, however, is unimpressive.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 review

Lenovo, keeper of the venerated ThinkPad brand, was one of the first Windows laptop makers to directly take on Apple's MacBook Air , with its 13-inch ThinkPad X1 . This was before Intel had begun publicly branding thin laptops with its trademarked...

Review: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook

With its consumer focused IdeaPad U310, Lenovo showed that it ‘got' the Ultrabook segment and impressed us with a solid, powerful and distinctive Ultrabook with great battery life and an even greater value at around $600.

Objects of Desire: Lenovo ThinkPad X1

This slim and stylish 13-inch laptop may make photographers overlook their beloved Apple notebook computers and give Lenovo a chance.

And for showing off your photos and videos, the X1 has a super bright (350 NIT) high-definition screen and Dolby Home Theater v4 sound.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1

The X1 is an exceptional 13.3-inch laptop, which would have easily walked away with an Editors' Choice award were it not for Lenovo's decision to charge Australians way too much for it.

Great performance ; Incredibly durable construction ; Thin ; Integrated 3G

Poor battery life ; Aussies pay a lot more for the X1 than they should

The X1 is great, right?
