ATi Remote Wonder II

The RWII is a slight improvement over the original RWI by bringing key (needed) functions to the table.

So, there we have it the new ATI Remote Wonder 2. It's been a long time coming and boy was it worth the wait. It is a shame its not going to be available in retail channels, but instead only with a new ATI All In Wonder card. That kind of shuts out...

Superb new design much better than the original, Double the range (60Feet) works through walls, More comfortable to hold, USB plug and play compatible

Only available with All In Wonder Cards (For Now), Would not install properly for me until my third try

Since the Menacing Thick Fluffy Blanket (MTFB) test we use with infrared remotes isn't of any use for RF units, we must instead resort to the less common (but equally unscientific) House Of Countless Obstacles (HOCO) test. In testing the Remote Wonder...

Does what it is supposed to

It appears to recognize itself as a usb keyboard and mouse; 'course lirc can change the keymapping.

I bought this and several other pieces of hardware for my Fedora Core 4 mythtv box... plugged it in, and it immediately started working--no driver installs, nothing

I've not tried experimenting with its limits, I've only used it in what would be considered "normal operating conditions", and there have been no issues with it, as far as I can tell

Great - When it works

Great when it works, otherwise you might as well just sit at the computer. I think and IR remote would have been cheaper and worked better.

Integrates well with ATI Media Center, and has plenty of regular and programable buttons and the software allows you to program what buttons do in different programs

Since it's RF it seems to decide when it wants to work. Under certain conditions you have to be standing on the reciever for it to work. Even on good days it will only work in certain positions/locations

Works with Linux

Recommend using a 15 ft (or 30 ft + powered USB hub) USB extension, to get the receiver to within 30 ft of where the remote will be used.

Works great with FC3 using lirc_atiusb. The trick is creating the right lircd.conf file. Works great with lirc and MythTV. Do not buy the RW-1 because it only has about a 6 ft range. Buy this one instead. Note: I have not tried this with Windows and...

Only good for about 30 or 35 ft, not 60 as advertised. Works through 1 wall. AUX and PC buttons do not work with lirc_atiusb but all other buttons do and are programmable, even the thumb pad

Don't buy Wonder I.. buy this one.

I bought RW first one, but it was a really bad product. However, this second one is mostly fixed the problems from the first one. Good to use.

Good range

Poor mouse control. Too sensitive

ATI Remote Wonder II PC RF Remote Control

Don't buy this remote if you plan on using it through a wall in your house or over a large distance. It simply doesn't have the signal strength for it. This is an excellent remote for an HTPC if you can put the receiver somewhere with a clean line of...

Highly Customizable; Good Driver Support for PC and Mac platforms; Joystick style mouse has good accuracy; sturdy construction

Signal strength is a little low and can be an issue over large distances or through objects

Don't waste your money

Setup was easy. Lots of features. It has a range of about 2 feet. It would be a great product if it worked.

i can't see why anyone could have problems with this remote. first off it works flawlessly with mmc and i couldn't ask for a nicer more feature rich remote.
