The unlocked and affordable Blu Life Pure XL smartphone has potential thanks to its superb display and great cameras, but it's hamstrung by clunky software and a lack of LTE connectivity.

Affordable. Big, sharp display. Solid rear- and front-facing cameras. Snapdragon 800 processor.
