Samsung Transform

At first glance, the Samsung Transform on ($150 after new two-year contract from Sprint) looks like the Samsung Epic 4G's younger brother (also on Sprint). Both phones sport a slide-out keyboard and a front-facing camera. But once you actually hold and...

Runs stock Android 2.1 ; Sprint ID useful for new smartphone owners

Unusable front-facing camera ; Limited storage

First time Android users will appreciate the Transform's, but experienced users should save their money for a more powerful phone

Samsung Transform (Sprint)

The Samsung Transform lets you swap the UI out with different themes, but it doesn't feel as fast or slick as a high-end Android device.

Punchy voice quality. Sublime QWERTY keyboard. Useful Sprint ID customizations.

Somewhat sluggish. Short battery life. Heavy. Poor voice dialing.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions There's 180MB of free internal storage, and a microSD card slot underneath the stiff battery cover; my 16GB SanDisk card worked fine. Bluetooth 3.0 is on board, and the standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack is a boon...

Samsung Transform (Sprint) review: Samsung Transform (Sprint)

For a phone claiming to be transformative, we were certainly hoping for a roster of more unusual features in Sprint's new Samsung Transform. What we get instead is a very decent midrange Android smartphone with a medium-size touch screen, a slide-out...

The Samsung Transform has an attractive design with a front-facing camera. The phone is comfortable to hold and has excellent call quality.

The Samsung Transform's battery life is short, and Sprint IDs take minutes to load. Our model lacked a music store.

With midrange features, the Samsung Transform is a solid choice for an Android smartphone. Clear call quality is a bonus, but the Sprint ID profile service isn't for everyone.

Samsung Transform Review

When the Samsung Transform was initially leaked it was postulated that the device would be another Galaxy S variant, possibly an all-touch device to go along with the Epic 4G. However, it transformed into a mid-range Android device with a side-sliding...

Samsung Transform Review

The Samsung Epic 4G has been a big hit for Sprints high end users but to expand their market Sprint has released the Samsung Transform. The Samsung Transform is the newest addition to Sprints lineup featuring Android 2.1 two cameras and Sprint ID....

Overall the Sprint Samsung Transform is an average phone. Aiming for the mid-tier market, the Samsung Transform does have the features, but to compete with the higher end phones, the Transform does not have a chance. With the still buggy Sprint ID...

Samsung Transform Review by Sydney

The Samsung Transform is one such device released with Sprint ID. Along with this innovative feature, it contains an 800 MHz processor, Android 2.1, and a 3 megapixel camera with a flash.

Excellent physical keyboard; decent 3 MP camera; Sprint ID Packs are great for new users

Slow and laggy; sticky touchscreen; data connection problems

After testing the Samsung Transform, the one word I can come up with is Disappointed. True, the keyboard is absolutely fantastic, but that fact just makes it that much more frustrating that the overall performance of the phone and the processor was...

Sprint Samsung Transform review

A surprisingly decent entry-level Android phone Take the Epic 4G, slim it down and slow it down a tad, and you've got the mid-level Samsung Transform on Sprint. Hang on, hang on. Keep reading. That's ...

Just know what you're getting: A mid-level Android phone that should do you just fine if you're looking to get into the Google ecosystem -- but one that won't be getting any faster with age.

Samsung Transform Review

It is available now for $150 with a new two-year service contract, and after a $100 mail-in rebate

Excellent call quality ; Very good battery life ; Excellent keyboard ; Google Maps Navigation is solid and a pleasure to use

Somewhat thicker and heavier than comparable phones ; Barely adequate camera with poor quality zoom ; Underwhelming external speaker ; No bundled microSD memory card

The Transform is a good choice for someone who is more phone-centric, who talks (and texts) a lot, and needs excellent voice quality and a great keyboard. If you want a media powerhouse, though, the Transform probably isn't the device for you

Samsung Transform Review

The Samsung Transform is a mid-range Android OS smartphone available exclusively from Sprint. Jen Edwards brings us a review of this slider with a touchscreen, landscape-oriented keyboard, and support for video conferencing.
