Avis d'expert par : Damien Demolder (techradar.com)
Superb black and white images from a pared down body with fantastic build quality
Excellent resolution ; Highly flexible raw files ; Attractive grain patterning
Inadequate viewfinder information ; Slow processing ; Lowest ISO at 320
The Monochrom is an awkward beast to handle and essentially it offers little in the way of flexibility. However, the images it produces are extremely good, and even the noise is attractive, but the tonal characteristics are dark and moody.

The Leica M Monochrom is a niche version of a niche camera, but well-heeled photographers who see in black and white are sure to fall in love.

The Leica M Monochrom is the world's first black and white-only digital camera
Avis d'expert par : Richard Butler (dpreview.com)
Leica has long been a manufacturer happy to exploit niche markets - its M9 may be a fascinating camera to shoot with, but the company's adherence to the near-obsolete, manual focus rangefinder design, coupled with its distinctly exclusive pricing...

Avis d'expert par : ePHOTOzine (ephotozine.com)
The Leica M Monochrom introduced in 2012 was the solution provided by Leica for anyone who wanted to shoot true black and white photos with a digital camera. Being a Digital Rangefinder, the optical viewfinder doesn't show the image through the lens,...
Full frame monochrome sensor, Impressive resolution and sharpness, Unique black and white digital camera, High ISO noise performance - Film like noise, Includes Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro, AdobeDNG raw images, Excellent build quality, 2 year warranty
2.5inch screen, Slow 2fps continuous shooting, High price - although could be justified, All the other issues associated with a digital rangefinder (manual focus, viewfinder framing, etc), Updated Leica M (Typ 240) dramatically expands on features
Avis d'expert par (pdngearguide.com)
It's the outstanding image quality that makes a color-blind, nearly $8,000 camera downright appealing.
Delivers high-quality black-and-white images with depth of information; simple, mostly manual user interface; no lag time; rangefinder viewfinder does not black out during exposure; compatible with some of the best prime lenses in the universe
Insufficient buffer; low-resolution LCD monitor; drains batteries relatively quickly; no autofocus; expensive

The Leica M Monochrom: an $8,000 nod to the heyday of black-and-white film.
The Leica M Monochrom is one of the more fascinating cameras we've ever reviewed. It has an impressively well-built body that is designed for a very small niche of shooters who want a camera that does one thing extremely well at the expense of nearly...
