Panasonic's $2,200 GH6 has finally arrived with an all-new sensor and desirable features like ProRes, 5.7K 60p video..
Pro-level video quality
Sub-par autofocus
So what is that? Rather than Dual Native ISO like the GH5, the GH6 has Dynamic Range Boost. It combines high and low-gain readouts to deliver extra dynamic range at ISO settings over 800. With the feature turned off, dynamic range is a bit below the...

The Panasonic Lumix DC-GH6 isn't a class leader in terms of imaging prowess, but the camera should highly appeal to video-first creators thanks to its support for 5.7K ProRes capture.

The Panasonic Lumix GH6 is one of the best cameras around for filmmakers
Huge range of video options ; Unlimited recording times ; Excellent image stabilization ; Relatively affordable ; Multi-angle tilt-and-swivel screen ; Great handling
Autofocus still lags behind the best ; Larger and heavier than GH5 II ; Some features not available until firmware update
The mirrorless filmmaking world may have become more focussed on full-frame cameras since the GH Lumix series emerged, but the Panasonic Lumix GH6 shows that there’s still life in the Micro Four Thirds sensor format. Small and lightweight but packed...

Long-term lovers of the GH-series were a little let down when the GH5 Mk2 arrived instead of an all new model, but that new model is here now!
Fairly priced ; Up to 5.7k recording at 60fps is impressive ; Charges via USB-C ; Four channel audio recording ; Well-positioned buttons ; Feels sturdily built
No direct recording to SSD (yet) ; It's no smaller than a full-frame camera ; CFExpress slot means only one SD card slot
For Panasonic it seemed there was no point in producing an updated GH series camera until it could really up the game, offering something clearly more capable and better than the GH5. With the Lumix GH6, it has managed it - and then some.
