Very slick.
Large selection of media playback formats, many types of outputs, compact, video upscaling, silent and super easy to setup.
No HDD included and no network connectivity but for the price there is really no reason to complain.

Works great for me
As long as you are not looking for Hi-Def playback this box does a fantastic job with divx and dvd files.
I've had this unit for over 6 months and play mainly DIVX avi. files on it. It won't play anything higher than DVD resolution but the upconversion to 1080i on my 42" HDTV looks very very good. Artifacting from the original files is still visible but...
Came with the manual in Japanese only. I downloaded the English version from their website

Western Digital HD Problem
Fix of issue should be high priority for MVIX.

Drive Compatibility
Great concept. And plays all the formats I want
I ordered the combo with the Western Digital Caviar SE WD5000AAJB 500GB drive. Turns out that drive has problems with the 4000U (according to MVixUSA Tech Support). They recommended using Seagate or Maxtor drives
