Avis d'expert par : Craig Ellison (pcmag.com)
Alpine's PND-K3 first standalone GPS packs a lot of features for its price, but on our tests, some unexpected routes surprised us.
Easy to use. Text-to-speech conversion. Excellent Bluetooth phone interface. Six-million-entry POI database. Maps include U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and U.S.V.I.
No live traffic updates and no option to add the feature. Doesn't display current speed on map view. Calculated some questionable routes on my tests.

We've reviewed a couple of in-car GPS devices from Alpine Electronics, including the Alpine Blackbird and the Alpine Blackbird II , and we haven't come away particularly impressed. While offering a decent feature set, the performance was subpar and...
The Alpine PND-K3 offers a nice user interface and has text-to-speech functionality and advanced lane guidance. The in-car GPS also features integrated Bluetooth.
The K3 is expensive, and battery life is poor. We didn't always find route recalculations to be the most efficient.
With the new interface and additional navigation features, the Alpine PND-K3 is an improvement over the company's previous in-car GPS, but the expensive price tag is a turn-off, especially when you can get more for less.

Feature Rich, Easy to use interface and firmware updating, Strong car mount
Pricey, Doesn’t know when to give up on predetermined route, Low speaker volume for bluetooth and music playback
Overall I was very pleased with this GPS, it’s packed with features, is extremely easy to use, and most importantly it’s reliable. I would have no problem relying on this device in situations where I’m either lost or unfamiliar with the area. I know...

Not well known for their GPS products, Alpine is known for their quality car electronics. Their PND-K3 GPS is a widescreen (4.3-inch) gps that comes with US and Canada NAVTEQ maps preloaded, Bluetooth handsfree calling, with text to speech...

APLINE - PROVIDE UPDATES!!!
It's great if you live somewhere devoid of any new construction in the last 5 years...
My office has been here for 3 years, and it's not in the GPS, either are half the clients I go visit.
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
Totally happy with this product.
This thing works very well. Easy to read and gives plenty of advance warning of upcoming turns. Has never given bad directions. Bluetooth hands free sound quality is great and simple to use with my cell
The only bad thing about this is the battery is useless. Keep it plugged in and it's great

Last Alpine product I will ever buy.
Nice graphics. MSN direct
Unit freezes, Routes are not the best choice a lot of times ; Maps are terribly outdated and it appears that Alpine has no intentions to ever release an update, do I paid for a GPS that will never be updated. Time for a new one
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
I have reason to believe that a firmware update would probably solve all my problems. Since I've recieve the unit (which was roughly two months ago) I've plugged the unit into the computer twice to check for possible undates. None have been found.
For it's actual price, this GPS unit is definitely feature rich. I have it run through my car stereo by utilizing the head phone jack. I love that my MP3's can play during travel and then the unit seemlessly lowers the volume and initiates verbal...
The dock sometimes has considerable trouble linking to MSN direct. I don't use the feature often, so the problem isn't dramatic. Also, once in a while the unit freezes. The freeze is usually associated with some type of change occuring with the MP3...
