Can a Bluetooth speaker combine voice assistant smarts with great sound quality, or do you always have to separate the two? Marshall's Stanmore II Voice adds Amazon Alexa to prove it's possible, while maintaining the signature sound we've come to...
Masses of volume ; Musical, bassy, yet still controlled sound ; Amazon Alexa integration is well executed and useful ; Classy, decor-neutral design
Expensive ; Alexa app is unreliable
The Marshall Stanmore II has the volume levels to match its rock n’ roll looks, but don’t think it’s all about the decibels, it’s a surprisingly musical speaker with an elegance you don’t expect. Amazon’s Alexa has been expertly integrated, and will...

Marshall's Stanmore II Voice smart speaker improves upon the already-solid audio of the Stanmore II Bluetooth while adding your choice of Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control to the mix.
Powerful audio performance with rich bass depth and crisp highs. Handsome design. Mics pick voice up easily from long distances. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant models available.
Unattractive back panel. No audio cables included for inputs.
Our biggest gripe with the Stanmore II Bluetooth was that it seemed a tad overpriced for a speaker that sometimes distorted on deep bass. With the Stanmore II Voice, the distortion is gone. Yes, the price has also gone up, but the inclusion of Amazon...

Rock 'n' roll gets sophisticated
Stunning design ; Powerful bass ; Alexa integration
Recessed mids ; Treble can be harsh
This speaker is super smart with Amazon Alexa built in, and while the bass is very powerful, mid frequencies feel a bit recessed.

Big statement, big sound
Rock ‘n’ roll looks ; Great app interface ; Great detail (sound) ; Snappy bass notes
That aesthetic might not be for everyone
Small for a Marshall, big by anyone else’s standards – but the Stanmore II Voice is an even bigger listen.

The sound quality is fairly good overall, especially with rock music, but I had several problems with its operation.
Overall sound quality is rich and full ; App provides a five-band graphic EQ ; Iconic Marshall look ; Physical controls are way cool
Couldn't get Alexa or online streaming to work on my iPhone 6 ; Bluetooth pairing is flaky ; Online customer support is subpar
In my listening, the Marshall Stanmore II Voice performed best with rock—which makes sense, given its heritage. Its sound isn’t quite as well suited to more polite tracks, though the five-band EQ can help. It certainly doesn’t sound bad playing other...

Marshall Stanmore II plays much louder sound than the competition, without compromising the balance. It crushes them, quite simply.
No other smart speakers we have heard deliver this sound pressure. It just gets even heavier because it also sounds balanced and good enough for calm tones.
The sound can be experienced as a bit rough at the edges, and the appearance of the Marshall speakers does not appeal to everyone.
It looks like a guitar amplifier, and is then also the most powerful smart speaker in its field. There is no one else we have heard who plays better than Marshall Stanmore II Voice. If you choose the Google Assistant version (there is also one with...

Marshall Stanmore II Voice Review: Smartest Speaker On The Block
Kein Akku ; Kein Standby-Modus ; Vergleichsweise hoher Stromverbrauch ; Kein (DAB)-Radio
Avis d'expert par : Geir Gråbein Nordby (lydogbilde.no)
