March 2004 Polk PSW505 subwoofer. $1299 It was in 1987 somewhere in Maryland that I first saw Mathew Polk's creations in person for the first time

Great value, excellent addition to my system

 

I've been using it over a year and I'm pleased. It has normal amplification and crossover options on the controls, it had 180° phase change, plus it can be always ON or auto ON. I'm not a super serious sound guy. I've just been incrementally improving...

I did a ton of research, and for the minimal cost, this can't be beat.

 

This arrived from Newegg in 4 days, free shipping, from clear across the country. Unit arrived in flawless perfect condition.

Sounds Fantastic with movies and music. Easy to hook up. This is a solid well made unit.

I've only had this a couple of weeks, but so far, none.

Update: 3/12/2016. Sub-woofer is still working as intended. A good buy. 2-10-13, purchased for 189.99, after promotional rebate. 2-12-13, Item arrived quickly, via UPS in two days, from distributor 85 miles away. Box arrived damaged, but sub-woofer...

Arrived quickly. No damage to woofer or grill. Sounds good.

Great warranty

 

If you are wondering why I am now giving this product 5 stars even know it died. Its because I called customer support and they told me that there is a 3 YES a 3 year warranty on the mainboard. They took my shipping info and is sending me 2 replacement...

Was great when it worked! Customer support was Awesome!! 3 year warranty.

This was used in my theater room and has maybe about 40 hours play time on it and now its dead.

Failed with Very Very Minimal usage

 

Noticed there was no base coming from my setup, checked back of sub The Power indication light wasn't lite but the sub was plugged in and the switch in the on position. Also there was a electronics burning smell coming from it and it was warm to the...

Great subwoofer! I've tried out many different subwoofer and the psw505 was by far the best. It sounds much better than the speakers that are twice the price. My set up is a 3.1 (for now). I am running 2 wharfedale diamond 8.4 towers and a wharfedale...

There are only 2 things I feel work against the psw505. First is the size. The cabinet is huge. The other issue I had with it is the power amp stopped working about a year after I bought it. I contacted polk and they sent me a new amp covered by...

Great Product - Easy Setup

 

Yes I would recommend this product as a stopgap or interim piece I did order another to replace it... Can't beat the price

Excellent inexpensive sub - good bottom end and sufficient power for normal movies.

Unfortunate longevity problems. It developed an annoying noise this weekend. Purchased 10/2014 - Died 01/2016. About 16 months of useful service. I suppose that the breakpoint on the price.
