Umm... it's still widescreen. Widescreen is useless for: (a) any program that is not designed to run in a window; (b) DVDs that are encoded at fullscreen (you'll get black bars at the sides); (c) DVDs that are encoded in non-anamorphic widescreen...

I think it distorts the image. It may be me, but it seems overly short and excessively long. That being said if I had to do it again, I'd rather have seen it in person b4 ordering it at newegg
