I'd say buy it. In order to get the reach that you are looking for it's either buying this for $300 or a lens $2000+. If you have the green and the need for perfection, then go buy a $6,000.00 dollar lens. Beggars cannot be choosers.
Best way to extend your reach without breaking the bank ; Lightweight, easy to assemble ; I AM HERE TO TESTIFY THAT YOU WILL NOT LOS ANY IMAGE QUALITY. I read and read, and then read some more. Whether it be outdoor football or wildlife, you will not...

I use this on my 200L and 400L. In terms of real world photography, IQ across most of the frame is quite comparable to the bare lens once you are a stop down from wide open. If you pixel-peep at 100% you will see a slight loss of contrast and...
Good build quality. Not much impact on IQ or focus speeds with good primes
Probably a bit over-priced, but definitely cheaper than buying a longer lens

The perfect accessory to the 70-200mm f2.8L and the larger Super Telephoto lenses. This is part of my standard baseball kit along with the 1D Mark III and 70-200 f2.8L.
Super sharp with no reduction in auto focus capabilities
You lose 1 stop but it's cheaper than buying another lens
