Shuttle XPC Glamor SN68PTG6 Deluxe

A barebone with integrated NVIDIA GeForce 7050 graphics.

While we were getting ready for these tests, Shuttle added a similar model based on GeForce 8200. A pity it wasn't based on AMD 780G, which would have reduced CPU requirements for HD Video playback. This replacement still won't let you do with a weak...

New Zealand PC World Magazine > Shuttle XPC SN68PTG6

Shuttle, maker of small form factor PC cases and motherboards, is taking aim at your living room with new models that add a host of features designed to make the humble PC integrate better with the average lounge

But can these little rectangular boxes find favour in your lounge? Admittedly, the shape of a Shuttle isn't a perfect fit for a typical entertainment rack found in the average Kiwi home. However, given the Shuttle's compact dimensions, there's bound to...

Review: Shuttle SN68PTG6 Deluxe bare-bones PC

Not the most powerful but certainly beautiful

Ram slot

Just a little disapointed with Shuttle

Looks good, runs cool, quiet, and an easy build.

Like so many others, this one has a bad ram slot. Also only has two sata ports on motherboard., I have a sata blue ray, ssd,and hdd, so i had to get a pci with sata ports. Shuttles website seems to leave all problems to NewEgg, not much help themselves...

another bad one

I got one with a bad RAM slot, like many others. I thought I had a bad ram chip, so I procrastinated in finishing the system build. Now that I've isolated the issue to the RAM slot, my 30 return window is closed and I'm stuck with the faulty unit.

Not really aware of any

High failure rate, it seems.

Lucky, I guess

I didn't have any of the problems other people mentioned. I had Vista go down on me after nine months(corrupt system file), but hey, that's Vista for you.

It was easy to setup, particularly in Windows, and is well designed.

Linux drivers are not easy to find. Fedora 9 did not setup well. I've had no problems with Ubuntu 8.04, though.

A really nice barebones solution for HD. Planing on biulding a blu-ray player out of it.

Well the 1st one i got had a bad RAM slot. I'm hoping that 1 defective unit doesn't set the standard for all of them.

So far... So bad... Update!

I would definately recommend purchasing a new video card if you intend on playing any games on it. I had to turn the graphics settings, on Oblivian, all the way down. I gave it a 4 star review this time, just to balance out my previous post, due to the...

Again for the SFF it still had plenty of room to work inside the case. And I love all of the features, despite the problems. I installed Vista on the recomendation of another reviewer, So far... So good. No major problems with Vista yet. After I got it...

OK, after some fidgeting, I was finally able to get windows Vista to install. Turns out, it appears that, one of the DIMM slots appears to be bad. So, I either live with only 2G of RAM or I send it back (waiting for @ two week turn around) in hopes...

So Far... So Bad

I knew I should have heeded the warnings from the four reviewers before me, all completely mixed. However, for the features and price I figured it couldn't be all that bad. However, So Far... So Bad...

All of the components went together fairly easily for the small size. I was able to run a memory check and disk check and both ran without any errors.

Windows Vista will not install, receiving BSOD before installation finishes. Hopefully it's not the SATA DVD I installed (against the recommendation of the other reviewer). Shuttle does not have 24hr tech support, which really bites.

Needs work, but overall good

I bought this as a case and motherboard for a server to hold external files and run some development applications on. It currently has a 2.2 GHz AMD single core processor, 160 GB hard drive, 4 GB of RAM. Performance wise, I have no problems from this.

Sleek design. I like the fact that everything is built in: gigabit networking, Wifi, Bluetooth, and HDMI. It's small, out of the way, and quiet, so I can have my server without the noise

Tried a Windows XP installation and I could never get the network card to work correctly, even with drivers installed. Network card never showed up in network connections, although I would get link lights. Just to see, I installed Vista and there was...
