Provides even bright light. Much better than dull halogen bulbs. Hoping it will last well.

It replaced an old style bulb which gave less light and became very hot. It is exactly what we wanted.

Unlike many low energy bulbs this is genuinely dimmable - no flicker. It looks good and gives a wide ranging light source - from gentle glow to very bright. Highly recommended, if a bit pricey.
