We have yet to see a perfect iPod dock. For our money, this would be one that comes with a remote that has an LCD screen for browsing playlists, and provides an instant relay of commands to the iPod

The Belkin TuneCommand AV offers nearly identical features to Apple's iPod AV connection kit but costs a little less, making it a better bargain for people who watch a lot of iPod video on their TVs.
Can play iPod audio, video, and photos through home-theatre system while charging iPod ; S-Video connection for superior video output ; Can control your system from as much as 35 metres away with the included remote
Remote has limited functionality ; No USB pass-through port for connecting the dock to your compute
In the final analysis, $129.95 is still a bit pricey for this type of accessory -- Apple takes a licensing fee on all iPod accessories that manufacturers pass on to consumers -- but it's a little less expensive than Apple's similarly featured iPod AV...

What a piece of crap! Remote works about 20 feet away and battery wears out after one day! Radio shack $20 dock vastly superior!
