EVO Design 4G

It's no secret that we were downright smitten when HTC dropped 2010's proverbial bombshell: the EVO 4G. A knockout device that served not only as WiMAX's ambassador, but also catapulted us into expansive "superphone" territory with what was then a...

Vibrant qHD display ; High quality metals and plastics ; World phone

Average battery life ; Relatively thick ; WiMax not the pull it used to be

Despite great materials and a gorgeous screen, the average performance and so-so battery life keep it from being a slam dunk.

HTC Hero review

The HTC Hero has been an object of lust for some time now for gadget enthusiasts. Even from the earliest days of leaked hardware shots and blurry demo videos of its UI, smartphone fans seemed to agree that the company had finally achieved what has been...

Different, funky industrial design ; Sense UI a big upgrade over stock Android ; Great camera

Older CPU struggles with Sense ; Keyboard can be sluggish and inaccurate ; Odd "back" button placement

HTC Evo Design 4G (Boost Mobile) review

Many of the phones and features once reserved for nationwide major carriers have begun to trickle down to prepaid cellular providers. A case in point is the HTC Evo Design 4G for Boost Mobile. This pricey $299.99 smartphone appears to be a modern...

The HTC Evo Design 4G boasts a premium, well-crafted design. It also offers WiMax 4G data, Android 4.0, and HTC's Sense interface.

The Evo Design 4G suffers from short battery life, a slow processor, and poor call quality.

The HTC Evo Design 4G may be Boost Mobile's top dog but it's fenced in by a high price and weak performance.

HTC EVO Design 4G (Boost Mobile)

The HTC EVO Design 4G gets you fast data speeds and inexpensive monthly plans, making it a top pick on Boost Mobile.

Fast 4G WiMAX speeds. Sharp display. Comfortable to hold and use. Good call quality

Single-core processor. Slow data without WiMAX

The HTC EVO Design 4G is Boost Mobile's first smartphone to run on Sprint's WiMAX network. It's also the best smartphone currently available on Boost, with a lovely, crisp display, good call quality, and fast data speeds if you're covered by WiMAX....

HTC EVO Design 4G (Sprint)

The HTC EVO Design 4G is a comfortable world phone that offers solid performance and 4G speeds at a good price.

Fast 4G speeds. World phone. Gorgeous screen. Comfortable to hold and use.

Mediocre call quality. Limited video codec support.

Performance and AppsThe phone is powered by a single-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, which makes for solid—though strictly midrange—performance. Our benchmarks show that the Design should be ready for most common tasks, but gamers should look...

HTC Evo Design 4G (Sprint) review

The fifth to join the Evo family, the HTC Evo Design 4G is a slightly smaller, more budget-conscious version of the classic Evo 4G and more recent Evo 3D , complete with the family's typical Sprint WiMax 4G speeds. It also has the distinction of being...

The HTC Evo Design 4G has an understated black-on-black design, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and two cameras, and is a world phone. It comes with 8GB of memory preinstalled.

The stubborn back cover is hard to remove and the speakerphone could be better. A dedicated hardware shutter button wouldn't go amiss.

The HTC Evo Design 4G gives you a lot of smartphone for a good price--fast 4G speeds, a good camera, a strong processor, and a sophisticated design. It's an excellent choice for Sprint customers, except those who are specifically looking for a...

HTC EVO Design 4G Review

Setting you back $299 on the initial investment, and rate plans starting at $55 a month, this could very well be your next favorite Android device. Keeping in mind that for every six months of proper payments Boost Mobile drops the price of your bill...

HTC EVO Design 4G Review

It is currently available from Sprint for $100 with a new two-year service contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. Without the contract (and carrier subsidy) this handset goes for $400

World Phone, so it's a better option for those who travel internationally ; Relatively small ; Solidly built ; Good battery life ; Capable camera

No Microsoft Office-compatible software included ; Voice quality is OK, but not great ; Some issues with camera flash

You should be able to get through a weekend trip without the charger, which is a plus for those who like to travel light. That's a really nice bonus these days -- few smartphones can last so long
