LG Viper 4G LTE

They said it wouldn't last. And they -- pundits, analysts, bloggers, GSM fanatics -- were right. WiMAX, that flavor of 4G found in the 2500MHz band, has proven to be more of a hindrance than help during Sprint's transition from underdog to...

NFC and Google Wallet ; Mostly stock Android ; Reasonably fast performance ; Tempting price

Ships with dated Gingerbread OS ; Unappealing design

Even without a live LTE network, Sprint's first 4G device is a smart budget buy for current Sprint subscribers content with the state of their 3G service.

LG Viper (Sprint) review

Back at CES in January, Sprint announced its first two 4G LTE smartphones, the LG Viper and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus . Both will be out April 22, but for this review we're going to focus on the Viper. Touted as an eco-friendly midrange device, it is...

The LG Viper is eco-friendly, records superb video in 1080p HD, and comes with an NFC chip that lets you wirelessly transfer data to other NFC-enabled devices.

The LG Viper can only run on Sprint's 3G network for now, and audio quality is subpar as well.

Although many of its features still won't be available by the time it hits stores, the LG Viper is a reliable, environmentally conscious device with an excellent camera.

LG Viper 4G LTE: Eco-Friendly, Fast, but No LTE--Yet

Click a photo to enlarge. The LG Viper ($100 with a new two-year contract from Sprint; price as of 4/12/12) is Sprint's very first LTE phone. But the Android-running Viper is a little early to the game: Sprint hasn't rolled out its 4G LTE network yet....

Eco-friendly design ; Affordable ; Solid performance

Not running the latest version of Android ; No LTE network

The LG Viper has a stylish, eco design with a speedy processor, but you may not be able to utilize its 4G LTE speeds any time soon.

LG Viper 4G LTE (Sprint)

Despite a tough-sounding name, Sprint's first LTE device is a cute-yet-powerful, environmentally friendly phone.

Fast. Future-proofed with 4G LTE. Good camera. Green credentials.

Sprint hasn't announced LTE launches for most cities. Just-average voice performance.

Multimedia and Conclusions You get about 1.5GB of free onboard memory and a 4GB MicroSD card in a slot under the back cover; the phone had no problem with our 64GB SanDisk card. Its powerful processor easily handles most music and video files,...

4G LTE enabled ; Bright IPS display ; Eco-friendly initiatives

Boring design ; Choppy web browsing ; Jerky 1080p video recording

Talk about a smartphone that’s named after one of the most poisonous snakes out there, that’s because the LG Viper 4G LTE is missing a vital component that makes up a good chunk of its entirety – a live and robust LTE network! No doubt, we dig its $100...

LG Viper 4G LTE Written Review by Sydney

Well, you can't accuse Sprint of not thinking ahead. Even though its LTE network isn't available anywhere yet, the carrier is already releasing LTE phones. Thankfully, those phones will work on its 3G network until LTE becomes available, but that's a...

Spacious, 4-inch display; smooth performance by the dual-core processor; 4 GB memory card included; modern hardware design

Chunky phone; Android 2.3 with no custom UI can be dull; unimpressive display; poor battery performance; mediocre camera; 4G phone with no 4G service

Well, when I was writing the review, it didn't seem that bad until I compiled the Good and Bad above. It's a good phone and it will keep you happy. The iPhone 4 for $50 is a better option for the price.

LG T565 Viper

Niet echt, maar het is een voorlopige indicatie omdat de huidige score voor de LG T565 Viper gebaseerd is op te weinig testen voor een definitief oordeel. Check gebruikerservaringen of eventueel de ranglijst van GSM's voor alternatieven.

Helder beeldscherm; Goede camera; Google Wallet ondersteuning
