I've dismantled and increased the sound quality with higher quality soldering and a few minor wiring adjustments however the mic can not be saved, so I'm stuck with an overpriced pair of headphones.

Would be a great microphone if it wasn't usb and it actually worked 100% of the time instead of randomly cutting out.

These work great, awesome sound quality. You can use them while they're plugged in, which I need. Mic works great. Really comfortable, and block pretty much all background noise.
