Magellan Maestro 4250

GPS on the cheap

Bluetooth hands-free, text-to-speech technology, 2-D maps, TrueView

Bluetooth audio quality isn’t great, Magellan software isn’t user-friendly

Magellan’s Maestro 4250 provides an alternative to the more expensive, high-end TomTom and Garmin devices. Although it doesn’t provide the same level of polish as some of the better known brands, its features are functional and it provides everyday...

Magellan Maestro 4250 review

Magellan Maestro 4250

The Magellan Maestro 4250 allows you to operate the portable navigation system with voice commands. It also features text-to-speech functionality, integrated Bluetooth, and traffic capabilities. The system provided accurate directions.

The Maestro 4250's points-of-interest database is a bit outdated, and we encountered some general performance delays and glitches. Voice control does not include address entry. The system does not automatically synchronize your cell phone's address...

Despite some minor shortcomings, the Magellan Maestro 4250 is a solid and accurate mid-level portable navigation system with a helpful voice-command feature.

Magellan Maestro 4250

The superslim Maestro 4250 boasts plenty of slick features yet doesn't cost a fortune.

SiRFstarIII receiver. Case is the thinnest available. Large screen. Multisegment routing. Integrated traffic receiver. AAA TourBook and roadside assistance location

Bluetooth phone interface could be better. No auto-zoom or auto-volume. Can't control all functions with voice commands

The new, slimmer Magellan Maestro 4250 offers all the features of its predecessor, the 4050, at an even more attractive price.

Magellan Maestro 4250 review

The Magellan Maestro 4250 updates the Magellan 4050. Thinner and lighter, it also increases the number of points of interest (POIs) available to 6 million, compared to the 4050′s 4.5 million. Otherwise, the two units are identical in their key specs....

Nothing

Nice for the price

Nice features for the money, I have recommended this one to a few people, and they seem to really like it.

Nice big, bright screen. Typing in addresses / poi's are moron-proof. Exit poi's can come in handy. Reroute / detour option is useful. I am a service tech for a living, and I use this unit all day long. Bluetooth deal would be awesome if I could figure...

probably not the units fault, but I cant master the voice command function. Sometimes when I answer my cell phone, she (the unit) says.. "Say a command" Other times i think she is deaf
