Not for HTPC

 

Nice small, quiet package for low cost. Reasonable quality build. With SSD drive it loads and runs Windows 7 quickly. Good for browsing web and mail

Slow video. XBMC could not run DVD quality at all, standard def was choppy. Web streams also choppy. No video driver for 64-bit Windows

I JUST started using this, so I cannot speak to long term use yet. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Install went smoothly, wireless did not work until we installed all of the updates. No 3D support for graphics. FreeBSD 9.1. Would not boot after the default install,...

compact, simple, straight forward

Pretty good Pc at a great price.

 

If they would make it 64 bit compatible then it would be alot better. But it is worth the price for sure.

It is a good pc for what its built for. Dont expect to play any games on it. I knew what to expect when buying it. Runs extremely quiet. I installed the ssd and 4gb 1066 ram and windows 7 professional 32 bit

Its a little choppy at times and not 64 bit

Terrible quality + worse RMA process = stay away from this thing. You should never have to pay to send a defective unit back to the manufacturer.

Small formfactor, good linux driver support

Eithernet port failed after approximately 3 weeks. Foxconn is charging me to ship it back which is going to cost more than 10% of the cost of the unit, plus waiting a month to get the new unit

Good Value

 

It crashed twice running Linux Mint .. I could only install xfce version .. and I believe the crash had to with linux and not the h/w. Performance is fine as a small server or an appliance

Great features, form factor and performance ; Wifi works .. built in speaker is good enough for what you mostly need in an appliance

Tiny, quiet, very low power consumption

 

Wanted to replace file, web, and mysql servers with something 'green'. Now running as a file, web, mySQL server using LVM2 with 60GB SSD and a 2TB USB drive. 'Kill-a-Watt' reports electric usage at $0.65 per month for i1200 and 2TB USB device together....

Tiny, quiet, very low power consumption. Can be mounted on the back of a flat panel monitor. Ubunto 10.4 LTS (Desktop, Server, Alternate, LVM2), Mythbuntu installed fine

Imbedded Intel video sucks. 1024x768 at best so far ; 2 of my HDTVs and 1 HD monitor max out at 800x600 ; 1 old CRT monitor will do 1024x768

Nice Little Nettop

 

Overall all a job well done. Handles basic tasks like surfing, word processing and plays full HD video well. A good deal when it's on sale with the free 60G SSD, but doesn't worth the original $160 price tag.

no win7 64 bit driver for video ; have to pry to open the case ; gets a little hot ( over 75 c sometimes)

MSFT, get off you tail and fix Silverlight for once. You hardware acceleration support is seriously lacking and actually plays better without it, which is saying nothing good, trust me. As for this little system, it would make a fine Linux workstation...

Intel is to blame

 

Foxconn isn't at fault for Intel's lack of support for their bad product.

very cheap ; very small ; Windows Experience #'s (3.2, 5.6, 5.9, 3.3, 7.8) with an SSD after Intel driver is loaded

Intel GMA 3600 only works with Win7x32. Intel has not released any other drivers despite promises. Maybe in the future ; Everything is choppy until you disable Aero... and then it's not terrible

Inconsistent

 

We had a very bad experience with Foxconn support. Return shipping is always at our expense and they are very hard to reach. In issues like this they should just send a new fan and not have us spend $18.00 to ship the whole thing back and wait....
