Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

If you can live with its lack of SD card reader and screen's poor viewing angles, the IdeaPad U300s is a stylish and ergonomic Ultrabook, and our current 13in ‘budget' favourite.

Attractive, different design, Affordable, Ergonomic keyboard, Good battery life, Full-size HDMI

No SD card reader, No keyboard backlighting, Screen has poor viewing angles, Sharp edges

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s ready for online pre-order, price puts on some winter weight

Lenovo's been keeping itself busy in the battle of the Ultrabooks, and now its 13-inch IdeaPad U300s is up for pre-order. Unfortunately, since our review, th...

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s review

On tap here: fast performance, a tasteful design and the best keyboard / trackpad we've yet seen on an Ultrabook. It's too bad, then, that at this price it's missing key features like a memory card slot, higher-res display and backlit keyboard.

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s ultrabook review

The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s is the one of the newest laptops to compete for the Intel Ultrabook crown, but how does it fare?

Good keyboard ; Matte screen ; Intel Core i5 power

Fiddly touchpad ; Plain looks ; Limited connections

The Lenovo IdeaPad U300S is a good ultra-portable laptop and the matte screen makes it ideal for working outside. However, if you’re looking for an Ultrabook to use as your main PC, it doesn’t offer any compelling reasons to choose it over the...

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s, Lenovo's entry into the ultrabook arena, is as well-engineered as you'd expect, but it's not a knockout blow to its competitors.

First-class design. Excellent keyboard. WiDi.

No memory-card slot or Ethernet port. Sealed battery. Premium price.

Review: Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

Maybe it's a cliché that big things come in small packages, but with its IdeaPad U300s, Lenovo proves there's truth in them there words.

Solid construction, solid performance, solid feature set. Keyboard is as good as it gets on an ultrabook. OneKey rescue button to restore/rebuild the laptop is a neat idea — but do we really need a standalone, physical button on the side for this? It’s...

What’s up with the backlighting? Minimal port selection, with USB ports on opposite sides of the machine. Weak clickpad

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s: Light, Luxurious

If there's a laptop that deserves the moniker "Ultrabook"--a term that Intel introduced (and trademarked) earlier this year for a class of very slim and light laptops--it's the Lenovo IdeaPad U300s. Not because it's faster or beefier than the...

Velvety looks and feel ; Great keyboard and touchpad for an ultrabook

No Etherent or SDHC card slot ; A little pricey for its performance level

The U300s ameliorates its high price and slightly slow performance with a classy and very usable design.

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s ultrabook review

Months before Intel decided to jump-start its new ultrabook category, Lenovo made an extremely thin laptop which essentially fit 95 percent of Intel's vision: the IdeaPad U260. The aluminum-wrapped...

Very unique, rigid design ; Wonderfully spaced and comfortable keyboard ; Best touchpad among ultrabooks

No backlit keyboard ; No SD card slot ; More expensive than the competition ; Screen resolution could be better

The U300s’ captivating design and battery life make it a great laptop, but Lenovo still hasn't caught up to Apple's MacBook Air

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s review: Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

Lenovo's ; is the coolest-looking of the new generation of Ultrabook laptops, and packs in a large SSD drive, USB 3.0, and more.

Our more expensive configuration offers no discount from a comparable MacBook Air, and leaves out some basic ports and connections.

Lenovo's stylish U300s Ultrabook is one of the best-looking Windows laptops we've seen and matches Apple's MacBook Air nearly spec for spec. The entry-level version is $100 less than Apple's, but that discount vanishes on the higher-end model.
